PLANNING A WEDDING?
Here's a tip for bride-elects:
The invitations advertised online or in bridal books are lovely looking in the ads -- but they are often printed on flimsy paper.
What we hear from distressed brides after they are unsatisfied with their online-invitations is, "It looks like someone did it on a home computer!"
If you are considering letting an online or back of bridal book company do your printing, we suggest that you request a SAMPLE of your invitation before you order the whole lot.
You should be aware of what materials and workmanship goes into the invites for your special day.
DON'T FORGET THE PROGRAMS!
A couple more words to the wise:
Your wedding program is an important part of your special day. Guests will love having one to help them place names and faces -- and it makes a wonderful keepsake.
We suggest that you stop by our shops and allow us to show you a few of the more popular designs we produce. Currently, monograms and black and white photos of the wedding couple are appealing to our clients.
We promised you at tip, so here it is:
As you add people to the wedding party, ask them how they want their names to appear in the program and get the correct spellings of their names. Don't assume anything when it comes to people's names -- even the simple ones can be tricky. (John, Jon, Johnathan, Jonathon?)
And, finally one last program consideration:
Once you have the info ready, bring it in and select your paper and print options. However, we recommend that the programs are printed as close to the wedding date as possible. Why? Because things happen. Members of the wedding party may change, vocalists may be added or deleted, out of town officiants may have to cancel. To avoid panic at "ohmigawd" last minute changes that force the bride to order a re-print with corrections
, we like to get final approval to print DAYS and not weeks before the event.
